Chris Mole is nominated for talent coach development programme

John Stacey, Club Coach Support Officer, England Athletics, has nominated Chris Mole, North Shields Polytechnic Club, to take part in  Tyne & Wear Sport’s talent coach development programme ran by the County Sport Partnership, between October 2016, and January 2017. 

Tyne & Wear Sport have asked all National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) to nominate coaches who have been highlighted as the next generation of talent coaches in their sport. TWS will then provide 4 continued professional development workshops and an offer a bursary of £250 to all talent coaches. As a talent coach, Chris will access the:

• Sports coach UK “what is talent” workshop (Monday 24th October 6pm – 9pm, Sunderland University)
• App’s for coaching development workshop (Monday 28th November 6pm – 8pm, Gateshead Academy for sport)
• Sports coach UK “talent across the ages” workshop (Tuesday 13th December, 6pm – 9pm, Sunderland University)
• Video Analysis – Northumbria University (Monday 16th January, 6.30pm – 8pm, Northumbria University)
• £250 Tyne & Wear Sport coaching bursary to help with his onwards development

Following his nomination, NOTAN happily covered the £50.00 administration charge to enable Chris to attend the talent programme. We wish Chris all the best, and hope that he continues to pass on his knowledge and experience to one and all. 

Become a coach

Would you like to take your first steps to becoming a coach contact your Club Secretary and/or Chairman and together with NOTAN we will work to get you on a course that most suits your wants. A new award is now available Leading Athletics it is open to anyone aged 14yrs +.Alternatively if you are over 18 you may like to try the Coaching Assistant course we have courses coming up, or you may prefer to do a Leadership in Running Fitness “Lirf”. Again, course are available.

For those that wish to take the next step and become a coach:
Athletic Coach –
a four day course followed by an assessment
There are also courses in Running Fitness courses (CiRF) 
Local Development Programme (LCDP)
coaching days available for those coaches who share the same expertise. Information available on request. 

Online Modules

On line modules can either be in a new area discus… triple jump… wheelchair racing…?  Or could be something that is already on your coaching licence but at a more advanced level see http://ucoach.com for more information on Event Group Training or any other modules.  If you have not been on the site before you will need to log on using your coach licence number and a password then simply click on learn at the top of the page and choose an option.  All modules are free to register for so why not give them a go!!
