Active Participation:
Since 2010, NOTAN has ran its hugely successful Summer Grand Prix series targeted at Year 3 to Year 6 children to develop their all-round ability. In the early years there were 4 fixtures each summer averaging 30 young athletes. In recent years the series has grown rapidly and now consists of 6 fixtures across the season, with in excess of 100 athletes regularly participating at each meeting.

2016, saw 400 athletes from all over the UK including GB International athletes compete in the inaugural Spring Track Relays at Churchill Playing Fields. This event has now become an established fixture on the North East Track and Field calendar, adding in a throws festival and young athletes long jump competition.

In 2017 NOTAN took over the running of the Winter Grand Prix, a handicapped series of road races which had previously been run by North Shields Poly.

NOTAN are involved in the Blyth Sportshall Athletics Series, which is a winter indoor series that perfectly complements our Summer Grand Prix. Its incredible popularity means that every event is a sell-out and young athletes from all over the region look to take part.

NOTAN are actively involved in providing Athletics coaching to local primary schools during term time.
